Hello and welcome to
ZcarSlotRacing.
My name is Peter Zivanovic
and my main hobby is collecting and trying to race slot cars. If I have
a particular interest, it is in the slightly left-field stuff. I became curious
about sts, which is a complete off-road, 4wd system made by Exin (the Spanish
Scalextric Company) between 1985 and 1989. Its penetration outside Spain was
very limited and information about it was almost non-existent. So, I did a lot
of enquiring, writing, scanning and photographing resulting in The Anoraks’
Guide to sts. I hope you find it interesting and informative.
It would be stretching
credulity to call me a dealer but from time to time I manage to get hold of
some slot car gear, which I sell at NSCC swapmeets, on eBay
or through these pages. My particular interest in sts has led to my getting
some sets, cars, track and accessories to sell. I also spotted and imported
some very attractive Mercedes SSK and type 35 Bugatti cars. These are
reproductions by a German enthusiast of models originally made by Carrera in the
1970’s. Finally, I have a few slot cars of various brands that are either
surplus to my (or my friends) requirements or I have picked up on my travels
and trades. At the moment, these three sales pages are being re-constructed so
are not available.
If you click on
ZcarSlotRacing at the top of any page, you will return to the home page.
Finally, I am not a
wwweb wizard. I have put these pages together with MS Word (mainly) and tested it
against MS Internet Explorer V5 and Netscape Navigator V4.6 on an 800 x 600
screen. At present there are two known problems that I am trying to fix (see
below) but if you have any other problems looking at this site or if you see
anything wrong, either technically or with the content, please let me know and
I’ll try to fix it.
1) IE &
Netscape
Images should be
displayed in a second window of your browser. If this second window is not yet
opened, it will be opened and displayed as the active window above all the
other windows. If it is opened but inactive (ie the main browser window is
active above it) the images will load but the window will stay inactive below
the main browser window. This can be overcome by making the second window
active by clicking on it or its taskbar icon or by always closing (X) the
second window once you have finished looking at each image. I hope this makes
sense.
2) Netscape only
(I believe I have now found a way to fix this problem but if you still
experience it, please let me know.)
I am using a Microsoft
program (Word) to build this site. It works OK with Internet Explorer (another
Microsoft program) but sometimes Netscape (particularly earlier versions)
cannot follow some of the internal links. In this instance, you will need to
use your “Back” button to get to a point where you can access the page you
require. The main links that this affects are to the home page and to
descriptions (and pictures) of items from the sts for sale page.
Thanks
for visiting ZcarSlotRacing, I hope you enjoy it.
